How to successfully manage and tap into the superpowers you don't want to miss from your neurodivergent team members and future hires

This workshop will dive into reviewing the key components of how to build trust. Then attendees will learn how to deliver positive feedback that can be actionable in practice. They will review the various styles of leadership, from transactional to transformational and discuss the various types of situations where one style of leadership may lead to more satisfactory results than another. We will review the languages of appreciation and discuss how to leverage knowing our team's appreciation languages to help build a trust bank that allows for ebbs and flows that happen with less than perfect communication, without negative impact to the relationship.

In this workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to brainstorm ways to improve client experience before an appointment even begins in their practice. It will help them set clearer expectations for themselves so they can set clearer expectations for their clients and avoid miscommunications and conflict for their team. I am excited about this topic because it is an unexplored world of research and information that can benefit veterinary medicine and has been applied for over 100 years to other service industries. Three main learning objectives include: learning how people perceive wait times and ways to manage expectations, the effects of managing queues well in a business (for the team and the bottom line), exploring ways to apply the research to a veterinary practice.
